When it comes to sports events the London Summer Olympic of 2012 deserves a special mention and London will be the only city at time of writing to have hosted the event on three separate occasions.  There is a new stadium being built to mark the occasion.

London has many football teams and these include Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham, QPR, Tottenham Hotspur, Mill-wall, Crystal Palace and many more.

There are four rugby union teams and these are Wasps, London Irish, Harlequins and also Saracens as well.  Other more local clubs include the London Scottish, Blackheath Football Club and also the Richmond Football Club.

In terms of football stadium you will again be spoilt for choice and one of the main ones is the Wembley Stadium.  With the old Wembley gone, a new one was built during the mid noughties and at the time of its creation it was the most expensive sports stadium ever built.

Other famous stadiums include Twickenham which is home to the England rugby Football team and has a capacity of over eight four thousand.  Test Cricket is served by the famous Lords Cricket Ground which is deemed the home of Cricket and it is also home to the Middlesex County Cricket Club.  The Oval is also mentioning and that has a good looking open air restaurant on one side of the pitch.
